Re:State is delighted to be hosting a private roundtable event at the Conservative Party Conference.
The global competition for R&D and manufacturing investment is fierce. While the UK’s world-leading science base and academic excellence give it a critical edge, these assets alone are not enough. Securing investment requires strong public-private partnership, bold and internationally competitive incentives, and the clear pull-through of innovation across the entire life sciences ecosystem.
Under the previous Conservative Government, the UK made major strides in strengthening its life sciences sector, but in today’s fast-changing and increasingly competitive context, the UK must go further. This flagship panel will explore how the Conservative Party, from its position in Opposition, can play a vital role in championing this world-leading sector’s interests and secure our position as a life sciences superpower.
Re:State is delighted to welcome Julia Lopez MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology to lead this discussion.
This private roundtable will be held in-person and will take place under the Chatham House rule. This event is kindly sponsored by The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI).
