Re:State is delighted to be hosting a private roundtable event at the Conservative Party Conference.
As the Conservative Party evaluates its policy platform in Opposition, questions of tax, the economy and public finances will inevitably sit at the centre of the discussion. The Party faces the challenge of setting out a credible, distinctive approach that balances fiscal responsibility with the need to promote growth, encourage enterprise, and support families.
This private roundtable will consider the principles that should guide Conservative thinking on tax in the years ahead: how the system can be simplified and made fairer, how it can reward work and innovation, and how it can underpin a vision of national renewal. Bringing together parliamentarians, policy experts and campaigners, we will explore how tax policy can once again be a source of Conservative strength and clarity, and where the party should focus its ambitions for the next election and beyond.
Re:State is delighted to welcome, James Wild MP, Shadow Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, to share his perspective on how Conservatives can set out a clear and credible vision for tax policy in Opposition.
This private roundtable will be held in-person and will take place under the Chatham House rule.
