The Government has placed "excellence in delivery" at the heart of Civil Service reform, with an ambitious agenda focused on productivity, innovation, AI adoption and stronger operational performance. As departments face growing fiscal pressure, rising demand and rapid technological change, there is increasing focus not simply on improving delivery, but on what excellence in delivery should mean in practice across government.
Achieving this ambition will require more than incremental reform. AI and digital technologies present significant opportunities to transform how public services are designed and delivered, but lasting improvements will also depend on stronger leadership, workforce capability, organisational design and new approaches to service delivery. The challenge is identifying where reform can have the greatest impact, and how government can embed these changes consistently across Whitehall.
Re:State is delighted to welcome Jerome Glass CB, Director General, Future Civil Service, Cabinet Office to lead this private dinner with a small group of senior leaders from across government to explore the defining priorities for the next era of Civil Service reform, identifying the practical opportunities and cross-cutting themes that will drive excellence in delivery across Whitehall.
This private dinner will take place under Chatham House rule and is kindly supported by Newton.
