From policy to patients: delivering the Government’s genomics vision

The Government’s 10 Year Health Plan committed to creating a new genomics population health service by the end of the decade, putting the NHS “at the forefront of the global genomics revolution”. Such a service aims to enable a more preventive, predictive and personalised health system, transforming the care available to NHS patients.

The challenge is now delivery. Genomics must move beyond specialist services and pilots to become part of routine care, supported by aligned incentives, effective commissioning, and the workforce and data infrastructure needed to operate at scale.

This roundtable will explore what it will take to translate the Government and NHS’s genomics vision into reality.
