Labour Party Conference: 'Regulating for growth: delivering Labour’s economic mission'

The Government has placed economic growth at the centre of its agenda, with a renewed focus on the role of the State in enabling investment, innovation and long-term prosperity. Alongside reforms to planning, infrastructure and industrial policy, regulation has emerged as a critical lever for delivering that ambition.  

Labour’s Regulation Action Plan reflects a growing consensus that regulatory systems must be better equipped to support growth while maintaining confidence, competition and high standards. As technological change accelerates and global competition intensifies, there is an opportunity to create a more responsive and proportionate approach that helps businesses invest, scale and innovate in the UK.  

Re:State is delighted to host this Labour Party Conference roundtable with Chris Curtis MP, Former chair of the Labour Growth Group to explore how regulatory reform fits within the Government’s wider growth agenda, the progress made so far, and the priorities for ensuring regulation becomes a catalyst for economic transformation in the years ahead.
