Re:State is delighted to be hosting a private roundtable event at the Liberal Democrat Party Conference.
Economic growth and a thriving private sector depend on healthy local economies. The current wave of local government reform offers a rare chance to reshape the local state, but not just for the sake of tidiness or cost-cutting. Both in the places where Liberal Democrats wield local power and with an eye to the party’s significant, and growing, influence in Westminster, there is opportunity now to build a stronger, more responsive, and more empowered system, rooted in communities and capable of unlocking local and national economic growth.
In this event, Re:State will convene leading commentators and Liberal Democrat voices to explore the untapped economic potential of English towns, cities, and places, and the huge growth and system-shifting opportunities that could be unlocked by the Lib Dem vision for reform, economic renewal, and local leadership.
Re:State is delighted to welcome Sarah Olney MP, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Business and the Cabinet Office, to discuss a new vision for place-based transformation and the achievement of growth.
This private roundtable will be held in-person and will take place under the Chatham House rule and is kindly supported by Core Cities.
