As 2026 comes to a close, this will be an opportunity to take stock of what the polling tells us about the state of British politics and where the public mood might be heading next. It will be a chance to assess Andy Burnham’s time in office so far, how the public are responding to his leadership, and what his premiership means for the wider political landscape. Meanwhile, the fortunes of the opposition parties will have continued to evolve, and the issues dominating political debate may look quite different from those that shaped the year.
We will be looking ahead to 2027 and beyond: what the polling tells us about the issues likely to dominate the political agenda over the next few years, where the major parties have opportunities and vulnerabilities, and how public attitudes might shape the direction of British politics.
Re:State is delighted to welcome Keiran Pedley, Director of Politics at Ipsos UK, to share his analysis of the polling and perspective on where the country is heading. We invite you to join us for an informal discussion and festive drinks and nibbles as we look back on the political year and ahead to 2027.
