Preventing economic inactivity: health, skills and good work

Read the full report

This workshop write-up brings together ideas generated at a Re:State policy workshop led by Angus Gray, Director of Pathways to work, Connect to Work, Localism and Employment Support at the Department for Work and Pensions, and Ben Harris, Partner at Newton.

Economic inactivity is one of the defining policy challenges of this decade. The session brought together stakeholders from central government, local government, delivery partners and the voluntary sector. Participants shared perspectives from their own sectors, to diagnose the barriers to coordinated delivery and co-produce practical ideas for policy and system improvements. The session was held under the Chatham House rule.

This workshop is one of a series of events in our ‘Building the preventative state’ programme, supported by Newton.
